Hematology Oncology Locum Opportunity in Michigan

Hospital is looking for a Locum Hematologist Oncologist to fill their need!

Schedule:

• Dates of Coverage: approx. 10/1/2025 -12/31/2026 for an FMLA gap. No extension needed.
• Schedule: Outpatient Clinic M-F 8a-5p, after hours call as part of call pool
• Call Schedule: shared call pool, APP support. 5p-7a

• Practice Setting: Inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic & infusion center. Cancer Center is attached to the hospital
• Call Ratio: 1 in 5
• Patient Population for Required Coverage: Adult, Geriatric
• Practice Percentage: goal for this position is to be nearly all hematology
• Number of Physicians in Practice:  6
• Radiation Oncologists Present During Locum Tenens Coverage: Yes
• APPs providing coverage: 5 inpatient (covering 2 hospitals), 6 outpatient
• Average Number of Patients Per Day - HOSPITAL (Call/Rounding): 10-15
• Average Number of Patients Per Day - OUTPATIENT (Clinic/Office): 15
• EMR: Epic
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe:  90-120 days

Additional Information:

• This is for both malignant and benign hematology. Possibility of solid tumor, but that’s not the focus (i.e. if a solid tumor patient needs to be seen, that patient could be placed on the provider’s schedule). And then when this provider is on call for the practice, they could cover all patients (solid tumor and heme).
• Ball park >90% heme, <10% solid tumor.
• Benign heme patients outnumber malignant heme patients
• As a community practice we see a typical variety of malignant heme patients. We don’t do BMT or other advanced treatments typical to an academic center.

Submission Requirements

• Board Certified - REQUIRED
• Active MI License - Strongly preferred (willing to review candidates that needs to obtain license)
• BLS - REQUIRED
