- Performing a wide range of interventional cardiac procedures, including urgent/emergent cardiac catheterizations and other PCI-related interventions, as clinically indicated during call shifts.
- Managing general cardiology patients who may present through the ED, require inpatient consultation, or need follow-up during hospital rounds. The provider should be confident in handling common cardiac conditions such as CHF, arrhythmias, acute coronary syndromes, and post-PCI care.
- Rounding on hospitalized cardiology patients daily during the call period, ensuring timely follow-up, care coordination, and documentation.
- Collaborating with a dedicated inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP), who will assist with patient management and follow-ups. The locum physician will supervise and support the APP on shift as needed.
- Working with fully equipped on-site services, including:

- Radiology, CT, X-ray, and lab services, all available 24/7
- Access to hospitalist teams for admissions and co-management
- Documenting all care accurately and efficiently using the Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, which is in use across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Collaborating with consultants and hospital teams, including hospitalists and anesthesiology, particularly during code situations or when airway management is required.
- Responding to in-hospital codes and cardiac emergencies, along with the hospitalist and anesthesia teams, to provide cardiology-specific support and airway management if needed.
