Locum Hematology Oncology Physician - Clinic & Call

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Clinic Hours) with call responsibilities outside of these hours, weekends, and holidays (1 in 4 rotation).

About the Opportunity:

Hospital is seeking a dedicated Hematology Oncology physician for locum coverage. This role involves a weekday clinic schedule seeing a mix of hematology and oncology patients, along with participation in a 1 in 4 call rotation covering after-hours, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing comprehensive care to both hematology and oncology patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Managing a wide range of cancer types (excluding initial management of acute leukemia, which is typically referred to Boston).
• Managing Bone Marrow and Stem Cell transplant patients in the post-transplant phase.
• Performing in-office procedures including Bone Marrow Biopsies and Spinal Taps/Intrathecal Chemotherapy administration.
• Managing patient load of approximately 12-14 patients per day.
• Participating in a 1 in 4 call rotation, which includes phone calls and potential hospital visits for urgent issues outside of clinic hours (prior to 0800 and after 1630), and full-day coverage on weekends and holidays.

Schedule:

• Clinic: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM [Your Time Zone Here]
• Call: 1 in 4 rotation, covering:
• Weekdays: Prior to 8:00 AM and after 4:30 PM
• Weekends: Full day
• Holidays: Full day

Patient Load: Approximately 12-14 patients per day.

Patient Mix: Hematology and Oncology (all cancer types, excluding initial acute leukemia).

Procedures: Bone Marrow Biopsy, Spinal Tap/Intrathecal Chemotherapy (in office).

Call Expectations: Phone calls and potential hospital visits during off-hours, weekends, and holidays (1 in 4 rotation).

Minimum Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Hematology Oncology.
