Description

We are seeking a Board Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for an urgent locum tenens assignment in Massachusetts. This position requires a minimum 6-month commitment and a physician who can provide high-quality outpatient care with associated call and rounding responsibilities.


Critical Assignment Requirements

Availability: Minimum 3–4 days per week (up to 5 days preferred).

Commitment: At least 6 months (potential to extend to 12 months).

Licensure: Active Massachusetts (MA) License is strictly required.

Candidate Quality: Candidates must be 100% vetted for clinical readiness, clean records, and travel logistics before submission.

Detail Specification

Specialty- Hematology & Oncology

Start Date- ASAP (Urgent need due to staff departures)

End Date- June 1, 2026 (6–12 months total)

Schedule- Mon–Fri (3 to 5 days per week)

Coverage Type- Outpatient Clinic + After-Hours Call

Setting- Outpatient Clinic with Inpatient Rounding/Admissions

Credentialing- 8 Weeks (Clean record) to 90 Days


Clinical Responsibilities

Patient Volume: 15–18 patients per day in the clinic.

Rounding: Daily inpatient rounding on an average of 5 patients ($\approx 1$ hour).

Admissions: 

Required; facility is Stroke Certified.

Call Details: * Type: Beeper call (Both assigned and unassigned).

Volume: Approximately 10 calls per period; call-backs are rare.

Procedures: No specific surgeries or procedures required.

Support: NP in practice (supervision not required); RN, MA, and office staff support.

Technical & Certification Requirements

EMR (Clinic): OncoEMR

EMR (Hospital): Cerner

Board Certification: RequiredLife 

Support: ACLS & BLS Required

IMLC: No (IMLC bids will not be accepted)

Logistics & Privileges

Temporary Privileges: Available only for providers with a 100% clean record.

Travel/Lodging: All candidates must have their travel and hotel needs confirmed and vetted prior to submission.

Only candidates meeting 100% of the above criteria—including the MA license and 6-month availability—will be considered.
