Hospital - Pulmonary/Critical Care is in search Part Time Pulmonary Physician to support open shifts due to vacancy.
We are looking for a provider to work Monday- Sunday 8 hour Floor shifts:
- 1/19/2026-1/25/26
- 2/2/2026-2/8/26
- 2/23/2026-3/2/26
- 3/9/2026-3/15/26
- 3/30/2026-4/5/26
Shifts are 8 hour on site for patient care, onsite call and rounding. There is no night call. this is a 7 day per week as listed above schedule

Position Summary:
We are seeking a locum physician to provide care on the Pulmonary Floor, which primarily admits patients transitioning from the ICU to lower-acuity care. The schedule is 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, during which the locum will manage Pulmonary Floor patients in collaboration with APRNs, APCs, and hospitalists.
At 5:00 PM, patient care transitions fully to the hospitalist–intensivist team, making this an 8-hour daytime shift with no overnight responsibilities. This role does not involve ICU coverage; however, candidates with Critical Care board certification may also be considered for additional support opportunities on both the ICU and Pulmonary Floor in the future.
- Accepted Credentials: Physician (MD/DO)
- Active Kentucky License is preferred for fast interview for January/February dates.
- Active IMCL may be considered for March dates
- Board level: Pulmonary Board, Critical Care Board is preferred in addition, since these patients are sent from the ICU, we prefer Critical Care training as well. (this also allows for the possibility to cover in ICU as well in the future)
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, DEA Certification, other:
- Required Experience: chest tubes, bronchoscopy with and without ebus, thoracentesis, and pleurX drains.
- EMR: EPIC
- Shifts available: Pulmonary Floor
- Privileges available: Full Privileges
- Volume: Patients between the ICU and this Pulm Floor seen can range from 20-35 per 24 hour period and can vary vastly per day based on which are discharged from ICU to this Floor. Locums should expect to round on 18-20 on the Pulmonary floor, with the support of the APC’s and APRN’s and hospitalist.
- Will not accept: Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained Hospitalists.

- Are intensivists’ on staff 24/7: Yes
- Will Locums be the sole provider: 1 pulmonary physician per shift, and will hand off to the hospitalist at end of shift.
- Is there support staff, what does that include: there are APRN’ and APC’s to support the physicians on site.
