Locum Gastroenterologist - Inpatient Service & Call

?Coverage Duration: Seeking a total of 20 weeks of inpatient service coverage, broken down into 7-day assignments (Thursday 5:00 PM) to the following Thursday 5:00 PM .

Schedule: 7-day assignments, running Thursday 5:00 PM to the following Thursday 5:00 PM. This will involve 24-hour on-call coverage throughout the 7-day period.

About the Opportunity:

Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Gastroenterologist to provide locum coverage for our inpatient service. Our established practice includes 3 permanent full-time GI physicians, and we are seeking locums support to maintain a 1-in-5 call rotation while we recruit for permanent replacements. This opportunity requires a commitment to 7-day blocks of inpatient care, including 24-hour on-call responsibilities. We anticipate needing locums coverage for approximately 2 out of every 5 weeks throughout the year, totaling 20 weeks.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing 24-hour on-call coverage for inpatient gastroenterology needs during the 7-day assignment.
• Performing inpatient GI procedures as required.
• Conducting inpatient consultations and daily rounds on GI patients.
• Managing a wide range of inpatient gastroenterological conditions.
• Collaborating effectively with hospital staff, including nurses, other specialists, and hospitalists.

Call Rotation Context: Our permanent team maintains a 1-in-5 call rotation. We require locums coverage for approximately 2 out of every 5 weeks to sustain this rotation during our recruitment efforts.

Coverage Structure: Assignments are in 7-day blocks, from Thursday at 5:00 PM to the following Thursday at 5:00 PM.

Minimum Board Certification: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Gastroenterology.
