We have opened an Outpatient Wound Care locum physician need for Hospital, Peoria, IL.
REQUIREMENTS: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Surgery; MD or DO.
SCHEDULE: Schedule consists of Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p weekly.
- Practice Type: Outpatient Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine
- Licensure Requirements: IL License
- Number of Physicians in Department:1 MD open, 1 APRN
- Boards & Certification Requirements (BE/BC, ACLS, PALS, etc.): ACLS
- Board Certified Internal Med or Surgery; Wound and Hyperbaric medicine training and experience
- Patient Population Mix (% of Peds, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatrics, Medicare, Medicaid, other): 100% adult and geriatric
- Average Number of Cases per day (patients, inpatients, follow-ups, etc.): Mon – Fri: daily 12-20 outpatient wound visits; 1-4 outpatient HBO treatments; Center has 8 exam rooms and HBO suite with 2 chambers
- Description of support staff: Highly skilled RNs; 1 APP also in office 4 days / week T Tue-Thur
- Locum Tenens work and call schedule (please indicate specific days of the week and specific shift times): Mon – Fri 0800 – 1630
- No virtual or telehealth visits
- No weekends. No after hours or call
- Any specific dates needed for coverage? Needs start as soon as credentialing completed. We are looking for a physician with Wound Care and Hyperbaric (HBO) training and experience to cover the Mon – Fri outpatient Wound Center.
- Procedures Required (types of procedures to be performed by locum tenens provider):
- Assess and prescribe standard wound care treatments, compression therapy, wound vacs; HBO treatment oversight; debridements; casts; advanced tissue applications; I&D; callous paring; chemical cautery
Optional: punch biopsies
- LICENSING RESTRICTION: Already active IL license and DEA/CSR
- As always, we prefer clean and easy-to-credential candidates. Please do not submit with a lot of malpractice cases or those with high payouts. It is difficult to get privileges approved even when the provider has no pending cases.
