Locum Gastroenterologist - Hospital Consults & Light Call

Coverage Duration: Seeking coverage for 2 weeks per month, ideally filled by one or two providers committing to straight one-week blocks each. Anticipated start in November.

Schedule: Approximately 8 hours per day on-site. Specific daily schedule can be discussed.

About the Opportunity:

Hospital is seeking one or two dedicated Gastroenterologists to provide locum coverage for our hospital consult service. This opportunity involves seeing 5-10 adult hospital consult patients per day with variable endoscopy needs. Night call is light, averaging 5-10 call-backs per month. This position does not involve admitting patients. We are looking for coverage for two full weeks each month, ideally filled by providers who can commit to one straight week of coverage at a time. We are aiming for a start in November.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing on-site gastroenterology consultations for adult hospital patients.
• Performing endoscopy procedures as needed based on consults.
• Participating in night call coverage with an average of 5-10 call-backs per month.
• Maintaining accurate and timely patient records in the EMR system Cerner.

Patient Volume: 5-10 hospital consult patients per day.

Endoscopy Needs: Variable, based on consults.

Call Responsibilities: Light night call, averaging 5-10 call-backs per month.

Coverage Commitment: Seeking coverage for 2 weeks per month, ideally in straight one-week blocks.
