Description

Hospital is looking for a Locum Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician for PRN coverage


Schedule:

  • Ideal Candidate would have flexibility on schedule and not require a minimum number of coverage days.
  • 4-8 days each month coverage
  • Day shift 7a-5p
  • Night call 5p-7a (low call census, and almost no callback)
  • Wed, Thurs, Fri every week & occasional weekend call; 7a-5p day shift & 7p-5a night call

Details:

  • PM&R is the attending
  • There is no hospitalist coverage on the patients usually. 
  • The facility places consult for medically complex patients and have access to all the typical hospital specialties, since the rehab unit is located within a community hospital
  • Max beds 14, usual Census is between 12-14. 1-2 discharges and admission per day with variability

Caseload:

  • Percentage of Practice: Adult Inpatient - 100%
  • PM&R: Sports/Ortho - 33%; CNS Rehab - 50%; Medical Rehab - 17%
  • Average number of patients per day: 14
  • Number of Physicians in a group: 7 PMR physicians
  • Locum tenens physician required to supervise other healthcare providers: No
  • Other PM&Rs be present during our locum tenens coverage: No

Worksite Resource:

  • X-ray onsite: YES
  • Number of exam rooms: 14
  • Documentation/EMR System: Epic (Hospital)

Hospital Services:

  • Total number of beds: 300
  • Trauma level 3
  • Referral/transfer protocol: Affiliated hospitals transfer from 13 miles and 28 miles are most common

Required Procedures:

  • Inpatient settings - Sub-acute (Rehab facility)
