Description

Hospital is looking for a Neurosurgeon locum to help with backup/secondary call coverage starting June 2025. Ongoing dates will begin July 2025 when schedules are released. The site anticipates a need of locums for secondary call up to 27 days total per month to maintain level 1 Trauma status.  

Schedule/Availability Requirements:

  • June 10 (7a) - 14 (7a) 
  • June 21 (7a) - 23 (7a)
  • June 27 (7a) - July 1 (7a)
  • The site anticipates the need through Dec 2025, specific ongoing open dates with be disclosed when schedules are released for ongoing dates. 

Details:

  • 24 hour call (4 gratis hours) - 7a-7a
  • Since this is secondary call, team anticipates call back hours to be less than the primary call back. 
  • Setting: Call, Inpatient Trauma Level I
  • FTE: 4.0
  • Required Procedures/Job Duties: General Neurosurgery - spine and cranial - complex spine and cranial a plus. 
  • EMR: Epic
  • Support Staff: none


 EMR Required Training: 

  • Module (learn lessons) – Must be completed prior to providers first day. 
  • EMR Virtual training – Only able to attend if Modules are completed before training. Provider must schedule virtual EMR training after modules are completed and before the providers first day. 
  • All candidates must complete the following EMR questionnaire and detail it in the notes section of the candidates submission at time of presentation. 
  • What are the # of years of epic experience they have?
  • When was the last time (MM/YYYY) that they used Epic?
  • What is the name of the last facility the provider used EPIC?
  • Can you provide me with a photo large enough to add to a badge and not become pixelated? - Please attach photo in documents section
  • Can you disclose the provider's time zone for scheduling the virtual epic training?
  • We need the provider's best phone # to use for call shifts while working. Can you disclose?
  • We need the provider's best email, to use for programs while working onsite and the preapplication. Can you please send us their personal email address?


Credentialing Information:

  • Timeframe: 90 to 120 days
  • Credentialing with other facilities? No
  • Emergency temp privs? Yes, 1-2 weeks with clean mp/background.


Submission Requirements

  • Board Certified Neurological Surgery - Required or Truly BE (0-5 years of residency completion)
  • Active CO License - Required or IMLC (LOQ in hand at time of submission
  • Active ACLS, BLS - Required for credentialing
  • Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)
  • Must disclose # of shifts per month provider can offer to the team, ongoing - Required
  • Candidates must be available for any dates detailed in the job description to be considered for ongoing dates - Required
  • Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - Required
  • ???Clean Malpractice/Background for June shifts - Required, candidates who present with a self inquiry NPBD report will be considered with higher priority over those that do not.
