Description

Outpatient Chemotherapy and Infusion Center** Oncologist provides outpatient chemotherapy and infusions and is a solo provider. There is a midlevel provider who helps with patient flow, orders, etc. No hospital consults required with remote call. MD can work directly with ER physician or hospitalist, for any admissions. No oncology inpatient services at local hospital. 


Schedule/Availability Requirements:

  • Dec 1-21, may have additional gaps in 2026
  • Schedule: M-Th 7:30AM-5:30PM with night call then 24hr remote call coverage Fri-Sun
  • Setting: Outpatient clinic
  • FTE: 1.0 FTE
  • Duties: All aspects of Diagnosis, Staging, Precision Medicine, symptom management, and Treatment of Hematology/ Oncology Patients. MD oversight for both the Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services. Infusion Center requires MD onsite for all treatments. Infusion Center provides Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Blood/Platelet transfusions, Hormone therapy, Antibiotic Therapy, Rheumatoid Arthritis injections, and Therapeutic Phlebotomies.  
  • Required Procedures: N/A.  
  • EMR: iKnowmed (Clinic) and Cerner (Infusion)
  • Support Staff: 1- clinic RN, 2-MAs, 2-front office clerks, 1-quality analyst/billing, and 3 infusions RNs. Currently have a long-term NP who works the M-F 8-5. NP covers any infusions on Fridays and the occasional Friday appt.
  • Reason for Coverage: Locum coming up on 1 year


Credentialing Information:

  • Timeframe: 30-60 days
  • Requirements: **MSO requires the application completed within 3 days of being confirmed despite the start date!!**
  • Credentialing with other facilities? No

  • Average daily census: 15-21 patients Mon-Thurs shared between the MD and NP with 3/4 of appointments going on the MD schedule.
  • Current call coverage: 24/7 each week with around 5 calls per day
  • Submission Requirements
  • Board Certification – Oncology AND Hematology preferred. Will consider Board Eligible. CAN accept providers boarded in Oncology OR Hematology. [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
  • State License – [REQUIRED]
  • Residency Requirements/Fellowship – Medical Oncology Fellowship - [REQUIRED]
  • CA DEA, BLS, ACLS - [REQUIRED]
