Pediatrics Locum Opportunity in Alabama

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Pediatrician for weekend call coverage in Alabama to support a local pediatric practice. This role is focused strictly on newborn services and birth coverage at a facility with a Level I Nursery.

?Clinical Details

• Schedule: Friday 07:00 AM – Sunday 07:00 AM (Pager Call).
• Focus: Births only. No ER or OR call-back required.
• Volume: The facility averages 2 newborns per day (~700–800 births per year).
• Scope of Care: * Management of Level I Nursery.
• Stabilization of infants requiring higher levels of care prior to transfer.
• Admissions are required but occur very infrequently.
• Note: No NICU, vent management, or ECMO required.

Requirements

• Licensure: Active Alabama (AL) license or IMLC highly preferred.
• Certifications: Must be active in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP.
• EMR: Medhost.

Timeline & Logistics

• Credentialing: 45-day process.
• Future Potential: This shift typically recurs one weekend per month with varying holiday coverage; long-term interest is a plus.
