Clinical Setting & Scope
The provider will act as the specialist consultant for a high-acuity 32-bed ICU environment (SICU, MICU, CVCU, CCU).
- Role: Consultative services for ICU patients. Hospitalists serve as the attending/admitting physicians.
- Key Responsibilities: Bedside procedures, ventilator management, and specialized pulmonary/critical care consults.
- Daily Volume: Average of 20–25 patients per shift.
- Support: Nurse Practitioners assist with weekday rounding and clinical duties.
Call Expectations
- Weekend (Fri–Sun): 24-Hour Call.
- Weekday: Night Call begins at 5:00 PM.
- Volume: Average 5–7 admissions and 2–3 phone consults per call shift.
Provider Qualifications
- Licensure: Active Alabama (AL) Medical License.
- Background: Internal Medicine base with Pulmonary/Critical Care expertise.
- Availability: Must be available for the full May 15–18 block.
