Cardiothoracic Surgery Locum Opportunity in Washington

Schedule Structure: Full-Time Need | 10–14 Days per Month (Minimum 2-week block commitment)

Daily Hours: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Call Structure: 2 Weeknights per Week (5:00 PM – 7:00 AM) + Weekend Call Block (Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM)

Clinic: 1 Day per Week

Credentialing Timeframe: Standard Hospital Privileging

Position Highlights & Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon for ongoing monthly coverage starting in early October 2026. While preference is given to a single provider covering the full assignment, candidates with long-term availability offering at least 2 weeks (10–14 days) per month will be considered.

• Block Continuity: Shifts must start and end at weekend handoff boundaries (typically Friday at 7:00 AM or Monday at 7:00 AM). Mid-weekend schedule endings are not permitted.
• Coverage Scope: OR Surgical Suites, Inpatient Rounding, Outpatient Clinic (1 day/week), and Night/Weekend Call.

Required Procedural Skills & Expertise

Candidates must be proficient in complex advanced aortic and mechanical circulatory support procedures:

• Impella 5.5 Implant & Support: Required
• Aortic Valve Conservation Procedures: Required
• Aortic Root Remodeling & Enlargement: Required
• Minimally Invasive Mitral Valve Surgery: Strongly Preferred
