Position: Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist

- Coverage Type: Outpatient Endoscopy / Procedural Clinic (No Call)
- Shift Times: Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with an unpaid 1-hour lunch)
- Ongoing Need: Recurring weekday procedural coverage
Clinical Scope & Procedural Workload
- Procedural Time Slots:
- EGD (Upper Endoscopy): 30 Minutes
- Colonoscopy: 30 Minutes
- Combined EGD/Colonoscopy: 60 Minutes
- Sedation Protocol (Mandatory Requirement): Most cases are performed under Moderate Sedation administered directly by the gastroenterologist and attending nurse (no anesthesiologist present for standard cases). Providers must be fully comfortable with physician-directed moderate sedation protocols. Anesthesia support is available only occasionally.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Status: Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) in Gastroenterology
- Licensure: Active Maryland State Medical License or active IMLC (Compact) license
- Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
