Trauma Surgery Locum Opportunity in Iowa

Facility is seeking a Locum Trauma Surgeon to fill 15 shifts per month starting January 2027! 

Schedule:

• Start ASAP (January 2027-ongoing)
• 15 shifts per month needed
• 7p-7a IN-HOUSE
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Clinic Hours & Procedure/OR Days: Built into shift
• On Call: Night EGS back up call split with team

• Inpatient, OR, and Clinic reside in main hospital
• Job Responsibilities: Shift-based work in Level II Trauma center covering Trauma/Emergency General Services; Rotating weekly clinic coverage, 1 day/week; ICU Coverage
• Number of Physicians: 6
• Number of Advanced Providers: 12
• Supervision of APP: No
• Procedures offered in the practice: Surgical/outpatient follow-ups in clinic 
• Medical Imaging: Yes
• Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
• Patient Demographics: Adult/Geriatric/Peds
• EMR: Epic (each physician must complete Virtual Epic Training before first shift)
• Teaching opportunity: Teaching facility; resident rotation

Submission Requirements

• List the number of shifts per month your candidate can cover - REQUIRED
• Board Certified - REQUIRED (can accept truly board eligible candidates)
• Fellowship Trained (Critical Care) - REQUIRED
• Active IA License or active IMLC LOQ - REQUIRED AT NAME CLEAR
• Clean Malpractice/Background - REQUIRED
• Must be able to do Trauma and NOT only EGS - REQUIRED
