Description

Facility is looking for a locum Gastroenterologist for clinic and scoping coverage during the day with night call during the week and 24 hour call on the weekends.

Average callback hours: 3.2


Details:

  • Approximately 14 shifts per month - As the calendar fills with providers this will be limited. 
  • Mon-Friday - 8a-5p - Onsite (clinic or scoping) - Hourly
  • Mon-Friday - 5p-7a - Night call 
  • Sat-Sun - 7a-7a - 24 hour call. 
  • Setting: Call, Clinic, Emergency Room, Inpatient, Outpatient Trauma Level III
  • FTE: 1.0
  • Required Procedures: Scoping, EGD, colonoscopy, manometry, flex sigs and 24 hour PH probe.
  • Required job duties: Follow-through with patient if/when labs or other orders have been placed is required. 
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Support Staff: MA, NP/PA, RN
  • Reason for Coverage: Provider that was in credentialing was cancelled due to being unable to meet a requirement. 


Additional Details / Questions Answered by Facility:

  • Can you please advise the average patients per day? 12-16 when scoping and 10-15 when in clinic
  • Is there an Anesthesiologist on site or is conscious sedation required?  Yes, there is an anesthesiologist on site
  • Is there rounding involved?   Yes
  • Who admits the patients? Is it the locum or does hospitalist handle?  I believe the hospitalists handle this.
  • Can we get a list of procedures the locum is expected to do? Is it solely scopes or are EUS, or ERCP required?    We do scoping and bread and butter GI


SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Board Certified Gastroenterology – Required
  • Active CO license – Highly Preferred, Must be willing to apply for the license at acceptance. 
  • Gastro Fellowship - Required
  • Active DEA - Required for credentialing (site will consider a transferred DEA, however, must keep this DEA for the duration of the assignment, not just for shifts worked.)
  • Must note if provider can treat hepatology patients and/or IBD (inflammatory Bowl disease) - Required to Note at submission. 
  • Must note if provider can treat IBD (inflammatory Bowel Disease) - Required to Note at submission. 
  • Must acknowledge and disclose confirmation of the required job duties of the need - Required
  • Must be available for dates listed in job description to be considered - Required
  • Must state what dates the provider can fill - Required
  • Must acknowledge candidate understands the EMR training requirements set forth in job description and will complete in this order to avoid missing their start date - Required
  • Malpractice - Must have malpractice explanation & Self inquiry NPDB report at time of presentation - Required
  • Clean MP - Required for Urgent August & September shifts
  • Clean Background - Required
