Position: Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician
Location: Eureka, CA
Start Date: December 2026 (Fast-Track for Clean Files) / January 2027 (Standard Credentialing)
?Credentialing Fast-Track / Emergency Privileges: Clean files are eligible for fast-tracked temporary privileges to start in December. Physicians with large settlements, DUIs/drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or Medical Board actions are strictly ineligible for temporary privileges.
Schedule, Shifts & Rate Structure
- Coverage Type: Inpatient / Emergency Department Only (No Call)
- Shift Times (Rotational 8–9 Hour Shifts):
- Day / Swing: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Nights: 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Guaranteed Hours & OT: 8 guaranteed hours per day; Overtime applies after 12 hours worked per day (Must be pre-approved by Medical Director)
- Shift Volume Requirement: Shift minimums vary by provider
Clinical Workload & Environment
- Patient Volume: ~110 patients per 24-hour period in the ED
- Expectations: Completion of newly updated privileging form setting clinical expectations upon confirmation
Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements
- Board Certification: BC or BE (within 3–5 years of residency completion) in ABEM or AOBEM required (ABIM and ABFM certifications will NOT be accepted)
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted California State Medical License & Active DEA
