Advanced Gastroenterology Locum Opportunity in Michigan

Facility is looking to bring on an additional Gastroenterologist to cover 1 week per month for a minimum of 6 months- potential for extension.

SUMMARY OF WORK

·   Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric

·   Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% Inpatient

·   Leadership/Teaching: No

·   EMR: Epic

·   Trauma Level: Level II

·   Average Daily Volume: Approximately 8 follow-up patients and 6–8 new consults per day

CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS

·   Board Certification: Board Certified in Gastroenterology

·   Fellowship: Gastroenterology fellowship required

·   ACLS: Required

·   ERCP: Preferred, but not required

·   Malpractice/License History: Clean background required; no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions

·   Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 120 days

·   Temporary Privileges: Not available

SCHEDULE

·   Target Start: January 2027

·   Minimum Commitment: One week of coverage per month for at least 6 months throughout 2027

·   Coverage: 24-hour call

·   Call Schedule: Saturday 7:00 AM through the following Saturday at 6:59 AM- in-house from 7a-7p, followed by pager/beeper overnight   

·   Call Ratio: 1:4

·   Call Type: In-house 

·   Average Call-Back: Approximately 2 hours per week

• ACLS & BLS through AHA - [REQUIRED]
• Clean background required; no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions [REQUIRED]
• Fellowship-trained in Gastroenterology – [REQUIRED
• Ability to perform outpatient and hospital-based GI procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and advanced GI procedures – [REQUIRED]
• ERCP [PREFERRED]
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system – [PREFERRED]
